Beautiful, very unusual, really light, handmade Birch Bark Earrings With Turquoise Stone.
Earrings size: 1.5” long, 1” wide.
Earrings were made as a set to include pendant, though can be bought separately.

The decoration is delicately handcrafted by Siberian Artisans.
For many centuries the secrets of birch bark and wood crafting have been passed down from one generation to another.
The strong and water-resistant cardboard-like bark can be easily cut, bent, and sewn, which made it a valuable building, crafting, and writing material since pre-historic times.
Birch bark also contains substances of medicinal interest. Some of those products (such as betulin) also have fungicidal properties that help preserve bark artifacts, as well as food preserved in bark containers.
Hand crafted and each item is unique!
